Butler fights but falls to Drake 27-16

INDIANAPOLIS, IN.– The Bulldogs tried to end their one-game losing streak but they fell to Drake 27-16 at home.

QB Will Marty had a decent day passing the ball, completing 15 of his 32 passes for 197 yards that came with a costly pick.

Duvante Lane led Butler in rushing with 16 carries for 70 yards and a long of 12. Anthony Scaccia added 4 rushes for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Pace Temple led Bulldogs receivers by a long shot with 7 receptions going for 138 yards. Temple’s average was 19.7 yards per catch and his longest catch went for 37. James Marbaugh added 3 receptions for 28 yards.

Luke Sennett led Butler in tackles with 5 solo, and 5 assisted. Isaak Newhouse added 6 solos, and 3 assisted while Mike Cereone had 7 solos, and 1 assisted. Chad Burdo recorded the Bulldogs only sack.

Butler scored points on three of their first four drives but struggled after that for the entire game.

UP NEXT: Bulldogs will look to get things back on track against Morehead State on the road for Week 6.
